All Booked

The checklists have been prepared, all the bookings have been made and paid.

Now to choose the sights, restaurants, bars, etc. we'd like to visit in Lisbon and Madrid.

We should also get a little familiar with some Portuguese and Spanish phrases to be polite.

We're both getting in a lot of cycling so we can handle day 4 from Marco to Alte with its 52k distance and 1000 metres of ascent.

Later,
Jim

All Booked and Excited to Ride

My friend Ray and I are off to Portugal and Spain this time.

A few days in Lisbon, then a bike ride through the Algarve, ending up with a train trip to Madrid before flying home.

We've booked with Mac's Adventure again.  This will be my third tour with them and I've got nothing but good words for them.

There are bargains to be had. By booking so far in advance with Air Canada and flying an open-jaw route our total return air fare (each) is only CAN$879.  I can also recommend booking hotels through the Air Canada site because our hotel in Lisbon and that in Madrid average around US$75 per night.

Now that the major details are settled we have to get some familiarity with the Metro systems in Lisbon and Madrid, get all the pertinent data on the laptop, and learn some rudimentary Portuguese and Spanish.
