Outside Tavira

Our first day of cycling is over, a gentle ride of 33km. We are in a hotel complex which has outdoor seating, a church, school, botanical garden and museum. It's a few kilometers east of Tavira so we biked into town to have lunch and pick up a few things.

The weather had promised rain but it was not to be.  It did not predict mosquitoes but they are. Ray seems to have no bites in contrast to my almost twenty. I caught a few of them in the act.

Tonight we'll have our first real dinner. We've been grabbing snacks etc.

We just had a proper spiffy meal in the hotel restaurant and I had a 10 year old port in the bar.  We have reservations for tomorrow's dinner in Marco.

We'll have a bit of hill climbing tomorrow.
